Division 2 West
Llanybydder 12 Fishguard & Goodwick 16
The visitors deserved victory on a pitch which held up well after the recent heavy rain. Fishguard dominated the early exchanges, through an effective lineout, and after a period of sustained pressure it was scrum half Andrew Williams who crossed , with an excellent touchline conversion from fly-half Alun George. They soon extended their lead to 13 – 0 with 2 further penalties from George. Llanybydder responded with scrum half Jac Thomas varying play well, and it was No8 and skipper Ricky Davies who eventually crossed for a try as a reward for a number of drives. Half time score was 5 - 13 to the visitors.
Another penalty to George extended the visitors lead. The only other score was a try for Aled Tandderi Evans as he supported a threequarter move, and drove over from close range. The try was converted from the touchline by sub Jordan Jones to give a final score of 12 - 16. Both teams coaches were happy with the application shown by a number of inexperienced players. Llanybydder travel to play Whitland next week, and are expecting a tough match against the unbeaten leaders of the Division.
