Llanybydder travelled to Pontarddulais to play another re-arranged match under floodlights, and produced arguably their best half of rugby this season, in their quest for points to avoid falling in the relegation places. The away side started well, with backs and forwards combining well , creating numerous try scoring opportunities, scoring 4 first half tries, but several others went begging due to the final pass going astray. Wing Martyn Penhallurick was the first to cross after an excellent break by fly-half Tom Wilson. No 8 Ricky Davies continued his recent fine form with the next try, soon followed by a try for fly-half Wilson after a break by skipper Stuart Phillips. From the restart Llanybydder scored arguably one of their best tries of the season as Ricky Davies was released, who linked with lock Gary Evans who dummied and fed openside Phillips, who in turn found centre Dyfrig Dafis who crossed for an excellent try. Tom Wilson converted 2 tries and got 1 penalty. The home side’s only score was by Jared Walters who broke up the left touchline, a conversion by Aled Stone leading to the visitors leading 27 - 7 at half-time.
Pontarddulais improved in the 2nd half, as most of the play was in Llanybydder’s half. Eventually, the home side crossed for tries via hooker Andrew Badger and scrum-half Adrian Killa, one converted by Stone, but the vital final conversion was missed which would have given the home side a bonus point. The 5 League points now move Llanybydder uo to 6th in the table, but still in need of further points as the bottom half of the table is so competitive
