Haverfordwest were the visitors to Parc OJ in this re-arranged match played under flloodlights on Friday evening. Both teams adapted well to the conditions, with the majority of the match played in heavy rain which made it difficult for any sustained passing moves. There was an early penalty apiece by full back Gareth John for the visitors and centre Steff Davies for Llanybydder. The home team then had a sustained period of pressure which led to the mobile Alun Davies, playing at loosehead, to cross for the first try. The conversion by Steff Davies led to a half-time score of 10 - 3.
The second half started with Llanybydder camped in visitors 22, but Haverfordwest defended well as several waves of attack from home forwards and backs followed. Eventually, it was No 8 Ricky Davies who crossed for the second try, again converted by Steff Davies. Further home pressure failed to add any points, and it was Haverfordwest who finished strongly with an unconverted try for replacement Adam Williams with the last move of the match following a series of forward surges.
Next Saturday sees Llanybydder travel to Mumbles
