The visitors gained a deserved bonus point victory in an entertaining match at Parc OJ. Llanybydder’s front row had the better scrum as Zach Lowther, Rhys Morris and Dan Cooke provided a strong platform , but the Mumbles back line were clinical with fly half Andrew Evans varying play well. Mumbles took an early lead with a try for right wing Lee Rimmell, while full back Mathew Hughes added another after a sustained period of pressure, whilst skipper Adam Nicklin provided a penalty and conversion. The home side replied with a try for the hard-working Rhys Morris who provided several bulldozing charges, and a penalty and conversion for fly-half Llyr Tobias. As the visitors lead15 – 10 just before half-time, some good interplay down right wing between wing Luc Evans and No 8 Ricky Davies ended with a dropped pass on the try-line,and Mumbles broke away leading to a try for hard running centre Ewan Gully to give and interval score of 17 – 20.
Both teams created chances in the second half, but the home team’s only try was by hard working No 8 Ricky Davies , converted by Llyr Tobias. The visitors added a try for fly-half Evans as well as a penalty and conversion for centre Nicklin. Next Saturday ,Llanybydder welcome Pontarddulais to Parc OJ
