Llanybydder welcomed Amman Utd to Parc OJ, and claimed their 2nd win of the season to give the squad a welcome boost. It was the visitors who started brightly, using the elements to dominate territory, and there was an early try for hard working flanker Alun Lewis, converted by Joel Foster. An excellent backs move from a scrum led to a further touchdown for winger Kevin Simpson, to give the visitors a 12 – 0 lead. The home side replied with a period of sustained pressure, and scrum half Jac Thomas fed skipper and No 8 Ricky Davies to cross for a deserved try , converted by fly-half Llyr Tobias. Half-time score 12 – 7 to the visitors.
Llanybydder had more possession in the second period, with Tobias kicking intelligently to keep play in the visitors 22, and it was Tobias who threw a miss-pass to 2nd row John Evans enabling the young lock to sprint over for a try. Tobias converted and added a penalty to give the home side the lead by 17 – 12. The home back row were now dominating proceedings , with open side Dion Howells outstanding with several surging runs, and also some important cover tackles. Eventually a further try followed for skipper Davies to extend the home lead to 22 – 12. Amman Utd competed well, and were rewarded with a try to hooker Doug Jenkins from close range, to give a final score of 22 – 17.
