Llanybydder 85 - Pembroke Dock Quins 0

Pembroke Dock Quins were the visitors to Parc OJ, they are having a difficult season, and they deserve credit for fulfilling the long away fixture, and their team battled bravely for the full 80 minutes.    Llanybydder’s forwards and backs combined well as referee Jonathan Harries allowed play to flow.  There was 2 tries for no 8 and skipper Ricky Davies before he was replaced at half-time.  Further first-half tries were scored by right wing Ross Holder, centre Bleddyn Jones and full-back Carwyn Jones, with 5 conversions for fly-half Llyr Tobias giving the home side a 35 – 0 lead at the interval.

As the visitors tired in the second half, home flankers Dion Thomas and Liam Fitzpatrick combined well and made a number of surging runs, resulting in 2 tries for Thomas and 1 for Fitzpatrick. There was a fine individual try by replacement no 8 Rhys Morris as he broke away from a scrum on the half way line, whilst lock John Evans crossed for a fine individual score after a mazy run down the right wing.   There was a second try for Bleddyn Jones, with replacement wing Carwyn Blayney and centre Llyr James claiming late tries to complete the scoring.  Tobias added a further 5 conversions to give a final score of 85 – 0.     Man of the Match was awarded to young lock Josh Jones for a fine all-round performance.

Next week LLanybydder travel to Cardigan in what is expected to be a difficult fixture.
