It was another brave effort by the home side at Parc OJ, with the visitors, still in the hunt for promotion, finally claiming their bonus point try with the last move of the match. Llanybydder were missing a number of regulars, and there was an opportunity to give young Josh Jones a first start at lock, while Rhys Morris continued his recent excellent performances at hooker. Half backs Jac Thomas and Steff Richards varied play well, with Bleddyn Jones showing his versatility with a sound match in the centre. The scrums were solid, but the visitors shaded the lineouts enabling experienced scrum half and captain Adrian Killa to control the play and crossed for 2 tries. There were further tries for Pontarddulais for threequarters Jared Williams, and Aled Richards, with Brandon Wood converting two.
Llanybydder’s only try came from Bleddyn Jones, as he supported an interception from ever present skipper Ricky Davies. Fly-half Steff Richards converted and added 3 penalties as the home side lost their losing bonus point at the end. Next Saturday, Llanybydder entertain Tumble with coaches Richard Davies and Llyr James hopefully having some regulars back to select from a full squad.
