Both teams knew that a victory in this re-arranged midweek match should ensure safety from relegation in this very tight division. Llanybydder continued their recent excellent form , with forwards and backs again combining well to score 6 excellent tries, many after several phases of play. There was a hat-trick for rampaging lock Gavin Boak, as he continued his fine recent form, at times taking 3 or 4 Hendy defenders to bring him to ground. Excellent No8 Ricky Davies sniped around the side of a ruck to score, whilst in the second half there were tries for centre Gary Evans and scrum half Llyr James as they supported several phases of play, as fine referee Jonathan Hardy allowed play to flow where possible. Fly-half Tom Wilson varied play well at all times, and succeeded with 4 conversions in a difficult cross-field wind.
Hendy were competitive throughout, and scored 4 tries themselves to seal 2 losing bonus points which should guarantee their safety in the division as well. Fly-half Josh Batcup kicked well, and claimed 2 conversions , 2 penalties and a drop-goal.
Llanybydder now entertain Pontarddulais in the final League match of the season.
