Pontarddulais 29 Llanybydder 24
It was a weakened Llanybydder squad that travelled to Coedbach Park, Pontarddulais with the current long injury list, and also a few players attending the international in Cardiff. However, full credit must go to the players who gave maximum effort , and finished match with 14 players after further injuries. The away side started strongly, and were awarded early tries for excellent No 8 Dan Hage, and interception for fly – half Llyr Tobias, both converted by full back Steff Davies. However Pontarddulais responded strongly, in the knowledge that a victory would take them to the top of the Division, with both forwards and backs combining well. The home team replied with 2 tries by centre Josh Goss, and touchdowns for flanker Rhys Samuel, hooker Andrew Badger and prop Andrew Williams, with 2 conversions for wing Mathew Jones. Llanybydder battled bravely and were further rewarded by a try, conversion and penalty for in-form fullback Davies, leading to a 29 – 24 victory for the home side.
Next week, Llanybydder travel to Pontyberem for their final League match before a 4 week break over Xmas and New Year period.
