After the 6 Nations break, Llanybydder welcomed St Davids to Parc OJ, and a comfortable win was completed against dogged visitors who battled bravely till the 80th minute. The hosts scored immediately as fly-half Steff Richards broke through for a fine individual try. The home forwards and backs combined well enabling full-back Arwel Thomas, flanker Aled Evans and winger Mathew Jenkins to score and claim the try bonus point. Further home pressure led to 2 tries for prolific skipper and No 8 Ricky Davies. There were 5 first half conversions for Steff Richards to give a Half-time score of 40 – 0.
The second half saw flanker Dylan Watkins return from injury, and he made some excellent carries on his comeback. Arwel Thomas crossed for his second try , which he converted after stepping up to fly-half, whilst replacement full-back Jordan Jones scored a fine individual try after taking a great angle from the half way line, with Jones converting his own try. The away side had more possession in the second period as their scrum gained some penalties, and they were rewarded with a try for replacement prop Dan Murphyfrom close range. The final score was a deserved try for centre Luc Evans to give a final score of 59 – 5 to LLanybydder.
Next Saturday, Llanybydder travel to Laugharne for another League fixture.
